Fleetwood Hospital Chemotherapy Clinic

Picture
We are raising money for a new Chemotherapy Clinic at Fleetwood Hospital. The new Chemotherapy Clinic will offer residents from Fleetwood, Thornton, Cleveleys & Poulton a place to receive treatment closer to home and save patients having to travel to Blackpool Hospital and Preston Hospital to receive their treatment. We are aware that the money raised isn't going to pay for the Chemotherapy Clinic in full, but being as there are now new standards attached to Chemotherapy Clinics that must ensure that patients receive their treatment in a more informal setting (not hospital type wards) and things like a flat screen telly, audio equipment and comfortable chairs (rather than hospital beds) are going to be a must, we thought that the money we raise will help fund the 'little bits and bobs' that the new Clinic will need. And, if the money we raise helps in the slightest we will feel pretty good. Please pass your donation/pledge to Ben or Myself, or you can donate through our JustGiving page located below, at the bottom of the Homepage and in the separate DONATE tab at the top of the website. The Blue Skies Hospitals Fund is the official charity we are using to help reach our fundraising goal. Once our fundraising is complete, Blue Skies Hospitals Fund will pass the money raised to Fleetwood Hospital Chemotherapy Clinic. Please donate as much as you can to this great cause.

Why this Charity?

In 2009 we lost a very special Uncle to cancer. Uncle Jim was diagnosed with cancer in December 2008, he sadly lost his fight in September 2009. Uncle Jim worked in the hospitals around the Blackpool and Fylde area and we think it is fitting that the money we raise can help a locally based service help treat patients with cancer in the area where he worked. If the clinic was around when Uncle Jim was receiving treatment I know it would have relieved some of the stress of traveling to and from hospital. Please help this worthy cause.
